Even the most expensive establishments in the capital cannot boast of being located in a picturesque location with heady mountain air or freshly caught seafood. But the metropolis has its own romance: the views from the windows of high-rise buildings and the evening illumination are sometimes breathtaking and are not inferior in the power of impressions, for example, to the whisper of the sea right at your feet at a restaurant table under the southern stars. Localway has prepared a list of panoramic restaurants in the city, for many of which a view of Moscow is a “dish” that is no less popular than the chef’s signature dessert.

Ruski

Restaurant

On the 85th floor of the OKO tower of the Moscow City complex there is a restaurant of Russian cuisine with the proud name Ruski. The establishment really has a lot of reasons to be proud, because it turned out to be literally “faster, higher, stronger” than others. Now this particular establishment, having overtaken Sixty, is the highest restaurant in Europe. You can enjoy the chef's dishes while admiring the breathtaking panoramic view that opens from almost all guest areas of the restaurant thanks to a 360-degree view.

There are several star chefs on the gastronomic scene, in particular, Konstantin Shatrov, Alexander Volkov-Medvedev and Elena Magnenan. On the menu you can already see beef tail soup, pickled smelt with potato pancakes, Karelian trout with celery root cream, stewed pork flank with oranges and a variety of porridges. Another feature of the establishment is a real eight-meter wood-burning oven, in which bread, kulebyaki, pies, pies and many other national dishes are prepared. Prices for baked goods are around 300 rubles, for hot dishes - about 700 rubles.

The interior decoration of Ruski was done by a professional team of designers from a famous Moscow bureau, which was faced with the difficult task of telling about Russian culture and history without cliches and templates. The result was a bright, avant-garde interior that meets all modern trends.

Another reason to be proud is our own team of historical guides, who will conduct fascinating historical and culinary excursions, at the end of which those who wish will be able to purchase branded souvenirs as souvenirs.

Restaurant

Since 2012, the kitchen of the White Rabbit has been headed by Vladimir Mukhin, a member of the Russian Guild of Chefs, the Moscow Culinary Association and, what is especially valuable, a holder of a diploma from the French Academy of Gastronomic Arts.

When Russian cuisine is reinterpreted by a great master with a delicate taste, the result is such delights as “Ryazhenka from swan’s livers and Antonovka marshmallow”, “Calf tongue in bird cherry dough, mashed potatoes and morel sauce” and “King Stanislav’s baba” soaked in champagne , apricots and fermented baked milk ice cream.” Needless to say, for creative gastronomic experiments, the chef in the restaurant has a real laboratory at his disposal, equipped with incredible technology that allows him to come up with and develop unique dishes and tasting sets.

In 2014, White Rabbit was for the first time included in the ranking of the 100 best restaurants in the world according to the British magazine The Restaurants and the international The Diners Club 50 World's Best Restaurants Academy. And in 2016 it became 18th on this list, which has not been achieved to this day. Not a single Russian restaurant has succeeded.

The fabulous and at the same time homely interior under the glass dome allows wonderful dishes to unfold in a special way for each guest. And the views of the Garden Ring from the 16th floor of the Smolensky Passage at dawn and sunset attract everyone who has been there to return to the restaurant.

Restaurant, Bar

The “space” restaurant is located at an altitude of 140 meters. It is at this mark that the 34th floor of the Red Hills Hotel on Kosmodamianskaya Embankment is based. The entire floor is at the disposal of City Space guests, so they have a 360-degree view of Moscow: the city in the palm of your hand.

In 2011, the establishment was included in the list of the 50 best bars in the world according to Drinks International. The cocktail menu is varied, original, there is even a “Night Alchemists” series, but, as they say, it will hit your pocket. For example, the molecular cocktail “Strawberry Cheesecake” will cost a visitor 850 rubles. Although regulars of the establishment claim that it is worth it.

Since 2012, Ivan Tishkin has been responsible for the peculiarities of local cuisine. Under his leadership, marbled beef steaks with red wine sauce, duck in a citrus glaze and warm chocolate pudding are prepared here.

Sixty

Restaurant

It is not known for certain whether the expression “Only the stars are higher” is true in relation to this restaurant, but Sixty at one time “climbed” above all other similar establishments throughout Europe (today, alas, it has fallen to second place). Of course, guests are used to taking stunning pictures, selfies, and photo sessions on the 62nd floor of the Federation Tower, but this is not the only advantage of the restaurant. By the way, the interior design here is considered almost the most fashionable in the capital, although a lot of time has passed since the opening.

Italian chef Carlo Grecu is also known as one of the best craftsmen in the city. Here, on Presnenskaya Embankment, he prepares “Feijoa popsicle with pistachio crumble”, “Beef on parsley root puree with morel sauce and kvass wort”, “Crab and young corn soup with coconut milk”.

The bar list is extensive. Of course, Sixty mixologist Bek Narzi is famous and very popular in his field. Famous DJs play here on weekends, so this restaurant can be a great place for a date, a marriage proposal, a mom’s birthday party, or a dance party with friends.

Restaurant

It is not for nothing that the building of the Russian Academy of Sciences on Leninsky Prospect attracts Muscovites on the days of fireworks and light shows. Here, above the river, there is a gorgeous panoramic view from the main building of the University to the domes of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. This is what attracts visitors to the Sky Lounge restaurant to the 22nd floor of the high-rise, and no less than the exquisite cuisine of brand chef Artem Dobrovolsky.

Sky Lounge offers the most varied menu: sushi, steaks, pasta, European cuisine, a wine library of decent size and selection, and signature drinks in the bar. Once the highest restaurant in Moscow (by the way, one of the oldest panoramic in the capital), today, in addition to the common room, it provides a penthouse on the 23rd floor for private negotiations and parties. By the way, the establishment is well known to the capital’s elite, and therefore has more than once met foreign ambassadors and world stars, for example, Justin Timberlake and Tom Cruise.

When reserving a table for the evening (which is worth taking care of in advance), do not forget to mention that you would like to sit by the window.

Restaurant

Victory Day or Moscow City Day are dates for which it is better to book a table in the Extra Lounge panoramic restaurant in advance. Its convenient location on the 20th–21st floors of the Korston Hotel on Kosygina Street makes the restaurant literally the center of an incredible show on illuminations days: from here you can see multi-colored fireworks queues and fountains anywhere in the capital. To match the colors of the city lights, the interior of the establishment combines pink, purple and turquoise colors. Upholstered furniture of fancy shapes and large panoramic windows complement the stylistic chic.

A date between two romantics, a serious business lunch, a sincere family dinner - the reason to surround yourself with beauty can be different. But one thing is for sure - Italian chef, master of modern fusion cuisine Antonio Salvatore will add flavor to any event. Dishes include Sea Bass Ceviche with Green Onions, Coconut Milk and Lime Juice, Black Salad with Crispy Squid and Pistachio Crusted Rack of Lamb with Cilantro Puree and Pineapple Passion Fruit Tartar.

Buono

Restaurant

Another restaurant in our selection, this time Italian, is also located in the hotel building. This time on the 29th floor of the famous “Ukraine” (now the Radisson Royal Hotel) on Kutuzovsky Prospekt. It’s definitely worth visiting the upper floors of one of the seven “Stalinist high-rises”. And if the visit is accompanied by a tasting of classic Italian cuisine in an impeccable interior of milky and golden shades, it is impossible to resist.

The famous Italian Christian Lorenzini, who has been cooking since he was 15, prepares lobster with seasonal vegetables, pink tomato salad with avocado, pumpkin risotto and amaretto. And he does it truly Buono, which means “good” in Italian.

Moscow restaurants with panoramic views are very popular due to their excellent views of the city's landmarks and rooftops. Most of these establishments are concentrated in the Moscow City business center, which overlooks Gorky Park, the Tretyakov Gallery, the Luzhniki Stadium, the Novodevichy Convent and the busy avenues of the capital.
