An example of a review for a project. Review of final qualifying work (teacher diploma)

The diploma is ready, and it's great! Can you relax and enjoy life? Wait a minute! Have you managed to find someone who should write a review of your thesis? Well then, it’s too early to rejoice. Read about what it is, how to write a dissertation review (because most likely you will write it yourself), and also how to find someone to sign it.

Who writes a review of a thesis?

The review is written by a reviewer - a person with a diploma (or, even better, a scientific degree) in the specialty of the diploma project.

Attention : This cannot be your supervisor. Also, for a review, you should not choose someone who works with him in the same department.

How to find someone who writes a review for your thesis? Ideally, this will be a specialist from the company where you conducted research for your graduation project. This could be the head of the enterprise or simply a respected expert: senior manager, deputy director, assistant manager, etc.).

If the work was created on the basis of theoretical works and books, the task becomes more complicated. In this case, it is better to seek advice from your supervisor - he, with all his inherent wisdom and colossal experience, and this is exactly what you should ask him, will help you find the right person.

If you manage to find a reviewer, do not expect him to write the review himself. These people are too busy to waste their time. Make sure that you have everything ready and the reviewer can only sign what you have written.

That is why we provide here the most necessary information so that you can independently compose a competent review according to all the norms and standards of your educational institution.

What should a review of a diploma be like?

Before you start writing a review, you need to figure out what it should look like. Here are the main features that a good review should have:

  • consistency in one style;
  • appropriate design and clear structure;
  • availability of a full analysis of the diploma project.

Remember: you, that is, the reviewer, are not writing an essay or a review, which is characterized by a free writing style. The review has a clear structure. But the form can be free.

Formatting a review

  1. Volume – no more than one A4 page.
  2. Font - Times New Roman.
  3. Font size – 14 point.
  4. Single line spacing.
  5. Indents – 2 cm below and above, 3 cm on the left, 1 cm on the right.
  6. The presence of the reviewer's signature.

This is how the document should end:

Structure of a diploma review

Usually a review is written in free form. However, there are some points that are typical for writing this type of work. Here are the main points that should be taken into account when preparing a review of a dissertation, and the example itself:

  1. The review must indicate the correspondence of the essence of the diploma to its main goal. This way the commission will be able to determine the level of special knowledge of the graduate.
  2. The work should describe the relevance of the problem raised and the level of its significance.
  3. The review should evaluate the degree of depth of work that the graduate has carried out.
  4. The review should highlight how relevant and possible the further use of the diploma is, that is, its value.
  5. The review must be written competently, with consistent presentation and appropriate style.
  6. This work should also indicate the unique aspects of the project.
  7. If there are nuances (strengths and weaknesses) in the thesis that the committee members should know about, they should definitely be mentioned in the review.
  8. The review indicates the preliminary assessment that the thesis project deserves.
  9. The final point of the review is whether the student is worthy of being awarded a qualification, as well as the personal data of the reviewer (full name and position or scientific degree of the reviewer).

For each final qualifying work, the supervisor must write a review, and the practice manager must write a review. This was the case until recently. Nowadays, a review of a research project often means a review. Let’s take a closer look at what a review of a thesis is.

What is a review of a research project?

When there was still a bachelor's degree in parallel with the specialty, a review was required only for those students who received one or another specialty. For bachelor's theses, only reviews from the supervisor were compiled. Specialists, in addition to having to “obtain” feedback from their scientific mentor, also needed to receive a review from the practice manager.

The specialty has now been cancelled. Now universities have switched to a two-stage education system:

  • the first stage is a bachelor's degree;
  • the second stage is a master's degree.

Future bachelors in their final year must prepare a thesis. Now there is no requirement to write a review for this work. Just a review from your supervisor is enough. The master's student writes a master's thesis. This is already a topic for a separate article.

This can cause confusion between a review and a review. Their essence is largely the same. So, both a review and a review contain the following elements:

  • a brief description of the student's work;
  • highlighting its positive and negative sides;
  • the final result about the admission or non-admission of the work to protection.

The difference is mainly that the review is written by an outside specialist, and the review is compiled by the supervisor. In addition, the review, as a rule, is compiled on 1.5-2 pages of typewritten text. The review is shorter in length. It usually fits on half a page. As a rule, it is written by the graduate himself, because it is rare that a practice manager will do this. He only signs the finished text. Although sometimes you come across “meticulous” specialists who thoroughly study the work and write their own reviews.

Considering that now the work should not be sent for review by an outside specialist, a review often began to mean a review from a supervisor. In this article, we will look at the rules for writing a review on the WRC.

Main points of the review (review)

Feedback is in many ways a creative work in which the supervisor must characterize the student’s work. Despite this, he is obliged to draw it up according to a strict plan.

It needs to highlight the following points:

  • Assessing how relevant the topic of the work is.
  • Characteristics of the student's diploma project by chapter. Here you need to indicate in a few sentences which issues the student covers in the first chapter and which ones in the second;
  • Analysis of the practical significance of the work.
  • Assessing student compliance with the internship plan.
  • Assessing student independence when conducting research.
  • Analysis of work shortcomings.
  • Indication of the positive aspects of VKR. The following template phrase is appropriate here: “However, despite these shortcomings, the work is a full-fledged scientific research, because...”.
  • The final conclusion is whether VKR is allowed to be protected or not. Here it is appropriate to use the following template phrase: “Despite these shortcomings, in general, the student’s work (full name) meets all the requirements of the academic qualifications and is allowed for defense.” Another option is “However, these shortcomings are not of a substantive nature and do not prevent the work from being eligible for protection. In general, the work meets the requirements for a final qualifying work. In this regard, I recommend allowing the student (full name) to defend his final qualifying work before the State Attestation Commission.”

The review plan for the WRC is approximate. After all, each university develops its own guidelines for writing it.

Review design features

Each university has its own rules for compiling reviews and reviews. They are given in the methodological recommendations for VKR. Samples and forms are also provided there. However, we can highlight some common design aspects that are characteristic of them. So, you should start writing any review from the “header”. It contains the name of the university and branch. This is followed by the inscription “Review of the student’s final qualifying work (full name)”, indicating the graduate’s specialty and the topic of his work. After the text of the review, the date of its preparation, the name of the scientific supervisor, his position, rank and signature are indicated.

If we are talking about a review in its original form, then, among other things, the seal of the organization where the thesis supervisor works is also affixed.

The recommendations below for writing a review on the thesis can be useful both to supervisors and reviewers, and to the students themselves. After all, sometimes reviewers themselves are too lazy to write reviews and entrust this task to a student. Some graduates rush to rejoice: after all, they can only describe the work on the positive side. However, not all so simple. Firstly, writing a review takes some time, and secondly, the reviewer may not sign a review that he did not like.

  • You should not write only about the positive aspects of the job. No one will take such a review (feedback) seriously.
  • Indicate a few negative aspects of the job that will not be decisive. For example, you can write that the WRC contains minor errors in design, or the plan is not clearly developed, or insufficient attention is paid to highlighting a particular problem.
  • Follow the amount of work required by the methodological recommendations. Too little volume, as well as too much, will raise questions from the head of the department, who, as a rule, checks all diplomas.
  • Follow the design rules.

Specialty (direction) Finance and credit

Topic: "Top Name"

The relevance of the research topic is expressed in the importance of choosing the right taxation system for an enterprise, especially in this time of crisis.

The topic of this final qualifying work is covered by the student comprehensively. In the first chapter of the thesis, the student analyzes the theoretical aspects of the application of the simplified taxation system in the Russian Federation. To do this, she reveals the history of its development as a special tax regime for small and medium-sized businesses; studies the rights, obligations and responsibilities of small businesses as participants in tax relations and considers global experience in applying a simplified taxation system.

The second chapter of the WRC is devoted to the analysis and assessment of the application of the simplified taxation system in LLC “Enterprise Name”. For these purposes (full name of the student) gives the organizational and economic characteristics of the enterprise, studies the methods of calculating and paying the single tax, and provides a general description of the taxation system at the analyzed enterprise.

In the third chapter (full name of the student), she proves the effectiveness of using the simplified taxation system in LLC “Enterprise Name”. To do this, she analyzes the fulfillment of obligations and the tax burden of the enterprise. Finally, the student analyzes the effectiveness of the application of the taxation systems under study.

The practical significance of the work lies in the choice of the optimal taxation model for the enterprise, which it logically justifies.

The student did not fully comply with the calendar plan and schedule for its implementation. At the same time, when writing the work (full name of the student), she demonstrated the ability to work with literature and draw her own informed conclusions.

The material is presented in a logical sequence. At the same time, the WRC plan has not been worked out clearly enough. Insufficient attention has been paid to analyzing the effectiveness of the application of the taxation systems under study.

However, these shortcomings are not of a substantive nature and do not prevent the work from being eligible for protection. In general, the work meets the requirements for a final qualifying work. In this regard, I recommend allowing the student (full name) to defend her final qualifying work before the State Attestation Commission.

Scientific supervisor of the research and development project: full name.
Position and rank (if any)

Thus, the concepts of review and review should be distinguished. Recently, as a rule, only the preparation of a review by the supervisor is required. If it is necessary to write a review of the thesis by a third-party specialist, then when writing it it is advisable to use the same recommendations as for the review.

  1. Compliance of the topic of the thesis with the State educational standard in the specialty “Finance and Credit”.

The topic of the thesis fully complies with the educational standard for the specialty “Finance and Credit”

  1. Relevance of the research topic

The research topic is relevant. Nowadays, credit is of great importance. It solves problems facing the entire economic system. Thus, with the help of a loan, it is possible to overcome the difficulties associated with the fact that temporarily free funds are released in one area, while in others there is a need for them. The loan accumulates the released capital, thereby servicing the influx of capital, which ensures the normal reproduction process.

  1. The degree of disclosure of the topic and completion of the research task

The structure of the work is well balanced, the recommendations are preceded by a study of the theoretical aspects of the chosen topic, the content of the work corresponds to the stated goals and objectives of the study.

  1. Quality of work (fulfillment of requirements for structure, volume, information base, design, etc.)

In general, the work meets all the requirements for work at this level. The information base of the thesis consisted of scientific works and research works, data from internal documentation of OJSC Rosselkhozbank

  1. Theoretical significance (advantages of the work: depth of research, logic of presentation, novelty of conclusions, etc.)

The presented thesis work was completed at a high theoretical level. The presentation of the material is logical. In the process of work, the author applied the techniques and methods necessary for this study.

  1. Practical significance of the thesis results (possibility of use in organizations, governing bodies, etc.)
  1. Unanswered questions, shortcomings of the work (mandatory section of the review, even for works done “excellently”) The thesis does not have any significant shortcomings. Disadvantages include an insufficient amount of graphic material and a list of sources used.

8.Evaluation of work (using a four-point system: “excellent”, “good”, “satisfactory”, “unsatisfactory”). (The possibility of awarding the author of the thesis the qualification “Economist” in the specialty “Finance and Credit.”)

The work meets the requirements for a final qualifying work, deserves an “excellent” rating, and its author is ___________________________________________________________________________

If the author was able to cover the topic and clearly did a good job on the project, when filling out the item regarding shortcomings, you should immediately indicate that they are insignificant. For example, you can use the phrase “No significant deficiencies were identified in this thesis.”

At the end it should also be written that, according to the reviewer, these shortcomings are not important, do not affect the quality of the work, and therefore should not negatively affect the rating that the author will receive.

If the thesis is not written very well, you will have to indicate this at the very beginning of the section on shortcomings. It can be written that in the process of studying the work, several important shortcomings and even gross errors were identified.

What disadvantages of the thesis can be listed?

More often than not, reviewers are faced with the need to describe shortcomings without detracting from the panel's overall opinion. The easiest and most convenient way to do this is to find 1-2 small, completely insignificant flaws, and then indicate them.

In some cases, a defect can be half an advantage: for example, in a review of a large thesis, an excess of theoretical information can be indicated as a disadvantage.

If this is not significant for a specific job and a specific specialty, you can draw the commission’s attention to the lack of applications or graphic materials, to the small number of sources used. Often the emphasis is placed on the fact that the author has not studied enough foreign or modern books on his chosen topic.

We can say that there are a small number of useful illustrations, that the presentation style is not well maintained in some chapters, as well as the presence of several punctuation and syntax errors and typos. If minor shortcomings were made during the preparation of the thesis that do not require mandatory correction, you can talk about them.

In any case, it is important to remember that if you do not want to spoil the good impression that your thesis will make on the commission, you need to select only 1-2 shortcomings, and not list everything.

Finally, you can make comments that the author of the thesis can refute directly at the defense, supplementing his work orally. An example of such a shortcoming could be the insufficient study of foreign or, conversely, domestic experience in solving the problems covered in the work.

The supervisor's review of the thesis is another half step towards its successful defense. The final stage of preparing a diploma is a review of it, which is a characteristic of the scientific work an independent specialist. As a rule, this is a teacher from another department or the head of the enterprise on whose example the thesis was prepared.

Instructions

The review must indicate whether it meets the purpose work and its content. At the same time, the student’s level of preparation on this issue is assessed, as well as the degree of knowledge of the problem. Further, the relevance of the topic considered, the methods and concepts used in the analysis of the issue, the correctness and breadth of their application are noted.

In addition, the completeness of consideration of the topic, the correspondence of the material to the thesis is also indicated. work its topic, as well as achieving goals and objectives. The review should also note the results obtained by the student during preparation, as well as the scope of their application, relevance and possibility of further use, i.e. practical significance of the findings.

After which the overall literacy of the diploma is assessed work, accuracy, compliance with its level of preparation of the author. In addition, when writing a review, you should highlight, if any, the distinctive features of the thesis work, as well as its uniqueness and advantages.

  • how to write a review of a thesis

The process of defending a thesis should involve not only the student, his supervisor and the certification committee, but also the reviewer. This person must evaluate the diploma, the level of completion of its theoretical and practical parts. To do this, the reviewer must first study the text prepared by the student and write a review of it. How to do this correctly?

You will need

  • - text of the reviewed thesis.

Instructions

Study the material you received. The thesis is a lengthy text, usually about 100 pages, and you need to read it in its entirety. But to make things easier, focus on the introduction and conclusion. The introduction should provide a rationale for the choice of topic, as well as the object and subject of the study. Also pay attention to the announced work plan. It must correspond to the stated topic and reveal all its necessary aspects. The conclusion should contain conclusions to the questions posed at the beginning of the text.

Write the text of the review. In the title, state who you are reviewing and what the topic is. In the main text, first characterize the content of the work, then analyze the relevance and degree of knowledge of the topic. In the second part of the test, indicate the merits of the work, for example, a large number of sources used, a large number of experiments conducted to confirm the hypothesis, an interdisciplinary approach - the use of methods from other fields of knowledge to reveal the topic. Also, if this corresponds, indicate the possibility of practical application of certain knowledge and methods proposed by the student.

Also, after the text of the review, you must indicate your last name, first name and patronymic, position and signature. You will need to read the text of the review at, and before that, one copy must be submitted to the dean’s office of the faculty.

Graduation year is the most difficult for a student. State exams that keep you awake at night, pre-diploma practice and, in fact, the diploma defense itself, which everyone is afraid of. In addition to the diploma itself, the commission must have a review of the work in defense. But how to write it correctly?

What is a review

A review is a document containing an assessment of the work, without which one cannot be admitted to defense. Typically, the authors of the reviews are the heads of companies and enterprises where the student completed his pre-graduation internship. Also, reviewers can be university associate professors, preferably with a candidate or doctorate degree, specializing in the topic of the diploma. The main condition is that the reviewer should not work in the same department as the student’s supervisor. Most often, students have to write a review themselves, and then approach the reviewers with the finished document only signed.

Review structure

Firstly, it is worth indicating the general provisions for the correct writing of a review - you should not use general phrases: “this work is good”, “the student has proven himself to be a good specialist”, etc. The main thing to remember: this document should help create a favorable impression in the commission.

1. Relevance (novelty). This is the first point of the review. It should indicate whether the topic is really relevant now and what is interesting and useful about it.

3. Benefits of the job. If a student writes a review himself, the main thing for him at this point is not to overdo it. You can indicate how this work differs from previous ones. If there is a practical part to the work, then you need to describe what results were achieved and how they can help in practice. To complement this point further, we can briefly repeat here the main provisions of relevance (only if it has actually been confirmed).

4. Disadvantages of work. This point is the most unpleasant, but at the same time, a review without it is impossible. A student writing a review on his own can point out minor flaws, since he knows his work better than others and can push into the background what really didn’t work. More often, such a paragraph indicates inaccuracies in design or excess/lack of applications, etc.

5. Evaluation. At the end, the reviewer must give the grade that he considers deserved for the thesis. In order not to make a mistake, it is customary to put a point higher - if such a rating is undeserved, members of the commission will point this out.

A diploma is a complicated thing. There is no need to put off writing it until the last day. But it’s quite possible to write a review in a day.

Tip 5: What should a supervisor’s review contain?

The supervisor's review is of particular importance when defending a diploma or candidate's dissertation. This is the first indicative indicator of the level of work performed. The review is written in any form, but has a certain structure.

Review, there are some rules for registration.

Feedback on the thesis

The thesis is the first serious research in the student’s scientific life, which is the result of long work. The review of the work should be no more than 2 pages and A4 format. The supervisor briefly analyzes the student’s final work, identifying the most important points. The review begins with an indication of the type of work, for example: “review of the thesis...” or “review of the dissertation...”. Next, write the last name, first name, and patronymic of the person who wrote the work. This text is centered. The main text of the review must indicate the relevance of the topic, novelty, degree of literacy in the presentation of the material, that is, how logically and consistently it is presented. As an example, we can cite the arguments proved by the student and the main results of the work. The student’s ability to use literary sources, the completeness of the topic’s development, and the basic research methodology are separately noted. If the supervisor wants to note the student’s special independence in writing the work, then he can write about this in the review. At the end, a rating of “good” or “excellent” is given, which is not final, but can significantly influence the reviewer’s opinion.

Feedback on dissertation work

There are no significant differences in a review of a candidate's dissertation from a similar document for a thesis, but there are some peculiarities. Firstly, in addition to the above substantive parts, the text of the review must indicate the prospects for further research, the degree of theoretical and practical implementation of the results of the work, and the number of scientific articles on the research topic. Secondly, controversial points that need to be finalized by the dissertation author are separately noted. Comments should not be categorical and spoil the overall impression of the work. It is better if they are written in the form of discussion questions, since a candidate's dissertation is a completed scientific research and involves a description of the material from different scientific points of view.

submitted for defense in specialty

The diploma project covers an issue that is relevant for Russian enterprises operating in modern conditions - personnel management aimed at improving the activities of the enterprise, rational use of its resources, in order to increase profitability and increase the stability of the enterprise. This is especially true for enterprises in the Ivanovo region.

The diploma project consists of the following sections: introduction, the main part of the work, consisting of four chapters, conclusion, bibliography and appendices.

The theoretical chapter of the work examines the methodological aspects of personnel management in an organization: the concept and structure of personnel, the essence and significance of planning and personnel management in an organization. It should be said that Tatyana Olegovna got acquainted with the works of various Russian scientists dealing with issues of personnel management in an organization.

In the second chapter of the diploma project, an analysis of the activities of the enterprise OJSC “308 ARZ” was carried out. The composition and structure of personnel, the organization of remuneration and personnel motivation systems are considered, and an analysis of the labor potential of the enterprise is carried out.

The third chapter of the diploma project is devoted to identifying problems associated with increasing the efficiency of human resource management of an enterprise, developing measures aimed at improving the system of personnel motivation in order to increase the sustainability of business processes.

Optimizing the functions of the enterprise's personnel service and developing a general concept of personnel management give the enterprise the opportunity to improve its results. Thus, it will be possible to increase its competitiveness.

In the fourth chapter, an analysis of the safety and environmental friendliness of the project is carried out.

The disadvantages of this work include the fact that the issue related to the analysis of the impact of increasing the efficiency of using the labor potential of an enterprise on its financial performance was not considered. Since the problems associated with increasing the efficiency of using the labor potential of an enterprise are directly related to the management of the enterprise, it would be advisable to consider this issue. This drawback does not reduce the overall value of the thesis project.

Tatyana Olegovna Shafrova, during the completion of her diploma project, demonstrated mastery of theory and practice in organizing and planning enterprise personnel, as well as the ability to apply the acquired knowledge.

I believe that the diploma project was completed competently, at a high professional level, and has practical value for enterprise managers.

The final qualifying work (thesis project) was completed in accordance with the requirements of the State educational standard that apply to final works and deserves an assessment "Great", and Tatyana Olegovna Shafrova was awarded the qualification “manager” in specialty 080507.65 “Organization Management”.

Sample review of the thesis (WCR) “Analysis of the competitiveness of an enterprise”

REVIEW

for the final qualifying work of a student of group ____

The competitiveness of an enterprise is an objective multifactorial characteristic of an economic entity. Assessing competitiveness is a complex task, the solution of which determines the further strategic and tactical actions of the enterprise.

Therefore, problems related to increasing the competitiveness of both products and the enterprise itself are becoming increasingly relevant.

In the first chapter The theoretical aspects of assessing the competitiveness of an enterprise and product are discussed in sufficient detail. The essence of such concepts as “competitiveness”, “competitiveness of goods”, “competitiveness of an enterprise” is revealed. Particular attention is paid to methods for assessing the competitiveness of goods and enterprises.

In the second chapter The work carried out a detailed analysis of the dairy products market. Indicators of product and enterprise competitiveness were calculated and analyzed. The main directions for increasing the competitiveness of the enterprise have been identified.

Chapter Three directly devoted to the development of measures to increase the competitiveness of Kineshma-Moloko LLC.

The work was completed in accordance with the requirements for the content and design of the final qualifying work, and the task issued by the supervisor on 01.03. 2012

Undoubtedly advantages works are:

  1. Assessing the effectiveness of introducing new dairy products for a given market.
  2. Calculation of the economic efficiency of the proposed measures.
  3. Reassessment of the integral indicator of competitiveness taking into account the proposed measures.

However, based on this work, the following can be done: comments:

  1. In the second chapter, much less attention is paid than it should be to the assessment of the enterprise's marketing strategy and environmental factors that have a direct impact on the competitiveness of the enterprise.

The work follows logic in the presentation of the material, shows good literary style, and mastery of economic terminology. All conclusions made in the work are justified and supported by calculations. The quality of the thesis is high.
