Living room interior with a workplace in the apartment. Living room with computer desk - furniture for work

Good afternoon, dear readers. I was recently asked where it is better to equip a home office in a small apartment? Guess what I answered? Where there is a place! Today, let's take a look at photos with ideas for compactly placing desks for a computer and laptop in the living room, bedroom, kitchen and hallway.

Many have a personal computer, but not everyone has their own personal work area in the house to calmly sit with him away from the hustle and bustle. In addition, in a small apartment there is not enough space to accommodate several computer desks, and they do not decorate the interior. Here various tricks and furniture of multifunctional use will come to the rescue.

Work corner in the living room

Of course, I will start with my adored bureaus, which in combination can be a chest of drawers or just a wonderful interior decoration. You can choose a tiny bureau to fit the size of your apartment.

To the owners of the walls I can offer this option: a computer table can work a compartment with a folding door, where they usually make a bar. In the same way, you can use a sideboard of a similar design or a bookcase.

For those who have a wardrobe even easier in the living room - you can organize a workplace right inside, this technique is often used by owners of one-room apartments. In general, in any furniture on an individual project, you can provide a place for a computer or laptop, be it a living room, bedroom, hallway or kitchen

Work corner in the bedroom

Choosing a dressing table for the bedroom, you can envisage the possibility of using it as a desktop for a laptop.

In the interior of the smallest bedroom you can always find a corner for such a shelf.

If a bedroom set is made to order, then you can come up with something more interesting than a modest shelf, for example, as in this photo:

Work corner in the kitchen

There is no special need to make a table for a computer or laptop in the kitchen - you can always use the dining room. Nevertheless, I propose two options for manufacturing working corners in the same style as kitchen set. Their advantage is compactness, perhaps such an idea is useful to someone for a corridor or an entrance hall.

Hallway and corridor

I already mentioned the equipment of the workplace in the closet. Here's another idea: to make such a table for a laptop.

A small cozy working corner can be placed in the hallway or in the pantry, hiding it behind the curtain.

If there is no storage room and there is no free space in the hallway, a similar idea can be implemented on the insulated balcony. Many in our country do this, but I could not find photographs for example today, in design it looks like in this photo:

Folding work tables

So we come close to the question - what if there is no free space at all? In this case, I can advise folding and folding tables, Ikea and other furniture manufacturers have several models.

We will talk about how to equip a working area in the living room. Furniture manufacturers offer a wide selection of home furnishings - it can be a cabinet set, a bureau, or a functional computer desk. Our choice is limited only by the number of square meters that we have available to accommodate the working corner, and most often, alas, there are not too many of them. In addition, there is another problem - such furniture can be difficult to fit into the finished interior of the apartment. I hope my photos will give you a couple of fresh ideas about where and how you can organize your workplace and make it not stand out from the overall design of the room.

As you can see from this photo of the living room, the bureau can be put almost anywhere, when closed it takes up no more space than a chest of drawers. By the way, such a bureau will fit perfectly into the bedroom interior. No less popular are high offices, with shelves and glass doors that look like a sideboard in appearance.

There are many such options; there is a room for any interior of a living room or dining room. Moreover, a bureau is not necessarily classic furniture, as many people think, there are quite simple options. The bureau in the photo below is perfect not only for the living room, but also for the room of a teenage girl.

Well, the last thing - when choosing a bureau, be sure to pay attention to how comfortable it is to sit at it, the fact is that some have little legroom, and this is important, because we usually spend a lot of time at the computer.

Of course, there are many other solutions for working with a laptop, for example, such small tables. No, no, I can clearly see that there is a computer on the table, but still it does not seem right for me to flaunt sloppy strands of hanging wires, and besides, there is no place for a system unit (not everyone has a Mac at home). And for a laptop, a table is even very suitable.

Let's move on to computer desks. It is ideal to fit the workplace into the living room interior, making it part of the furniture set. In any case, we did not find anything better and did just that. However, it was difficult to pick up something ready for our living room of 20 sq m, so this option suited us completely. We got something similar to this - the computer desk is a continuation of the TV stand and has a common base.

Here is a fundamentally similar solution to workstation equipment, sustained in classic style living room.

I want to show another interesting option for embedding a computer desk in a headset furniture. Here he carries an additional functional load - zoning the living room. This technique will help to make an elongated rectangular room more harmonious.

And finally, a photograph of the interior of the working area of the living room, the design of which delights me with its beauty and functionality. These two full-fledged jobs will allow their owners to work comfortably at home all day and could become the basis of a separate office, which we will talk about some other time.

How to choose a computer desk design in the living room?

It is difficult to imagine modern residents who do not use the delights of technology. Our apartments are literally full of all kinds of gadgets - in the kitchen there are combines, slow cookers and coffee makers, in the rooms there are televisions and computers. The last gadget plays an important role, because most often the work and the educational process are tied to a computer.

Unfortunately, not everyone has the opportunity to equip their office, but everyone can put a computer table in the living room. How to think over the design of the room, which serves as an office, and a place of relaxation, we now see. Two functions can perform a computer table at once, in fact, the further interior solution of space will depend on this.

Thinking over the overall design of the living room, it is important to consider the area of the room - if it is a small room, it is rational to use a folding model. The computer desk will turn into a work area as needed. In the spacious living room, you can highlight a separate corner of furniture and choose a monolithic corner or semicircular arrangement.

 • The table can simultaneously serve as a place for eating and for work. This solution is suitable for small rooms where you need to save space as much as possible.
 • A computer desk can be located in the recreation area and serve as a place to receive guests. In this case, it must be matched in unison with the interior of the living room. You can decorate it with a picture, an original lamp or vases. If you put folding chairs, the furniture will be functional and will become a place for receiving guests.

Of course, the laconic design of the living room is an important thing, but do not forget that the computer desk should be located as conveniently as possible, because you spend a lot of time behind it. And the decorative component of the interior can be thought out after you find a comfortable place for your table.

 • The working area in the living room should be ergonomic. Everything you need to work at your computer should be within reach. If these are documents - you need two or three hinged shelves, but the extra parts should be removed so that they do not distract from work.
 • Each shelf, cabinet and stand should have its own purpose so that you are comfortable working. It is best to place additional shelves as needed. For example, if you work with documents, they should be on the nearest shelf, but training books can be placed above the table.
 • The workplace should be well lit. If the design of the living room allows, place a computer desk by the window. If this is not possible, take care of the presence of additional light, which you may need even in the daytime.
 • Surround yourself with a relaxed atmosphere. It is best if the table will have its own clearly defined corner in the living room. So, you will feel confident. Borders can be marked with contrast flooring or podium design. You can also mark the border for the working area with the help of high racks or floor vases. For a small living room, it is best to use racks with open shelves and glass vases.
 • A computer desk should not interfere with other residents. If you put it in the center of the living room or near the aisle, you run the risk of breaking away from work each time to discuss news or everyday things.

When you find a place for furniture, you can think about how the design of the desktop and space will fit into the overall style of the living room.

Select the working area with color and decor.

The new work area can fit into the design of the living room in several ways, both as a harmonious addition that does not stand out from the general style, and as a bright spot in the form of a dominant accent. Designers recommend that in any case, give the computer table a certain area of the room and make it visually separate. There are several ways to do this.

 • Design the workplace in the color scheme in which the overall design of the living room is made. For example, if white colors prevail in your room, you can choose a table from light wood or use a classic dark color scheme, but put a chair in a snow-white color.
 • The opposite option is to create a bright working area, to pick a contrasting color to the living room furniture. If the sofa is brown and the walls are pasted with light beige wallpaper, you can safely set up a yellow table or just lay a carpet of bright colors in the working area.

Also, a computer table can be entered into the design of the room, if you make it a continuation of the furniture. Do you have a bookcase along the entire living room wall? Great, let the table be the lowest shelf. So, you will save space and be able to place at hand the necessary books and papers.

Another option is to use the wall under the TV, especially if it is equipped with retractable shelves. One side can be adapted for a mini-cabinet. You will not need to look for a separate place in the living room to accommodate the working area, and think through new design and color scheme. If you have a wardrobe in your room, use the internal shelves as a small table for your computer. The advantages of this placement is that you easily hide your workplace from prying eyes and save free space.

Modern technology is deeply embedded in the lives of ordinary people. It is rare that in a house there is no computer. At the same time, for many, work and study are “tied” directly to this universal device.

It is not always possible to allocate a whole room, so you have to arrange a workplace in one of the rooms that already have a different purpose. The living room is best suited for this. It remains only to properly organize a computer corner in this room.

Criteria for creating a comfortable place with a computer

In order for the computer table in the living room to take its place most ergonomically, some features should be taken into account. The basic principles of the science of ergonomics is the accessibility of everything necessary and the absence of interference for activities.

The functionality of the workplace is also of no small importance. The various supports, shelves, and storage systems should be located within reach and arranged appropriately.

Adequate lighting can also be a decisive criterion for organizing a computer desk. With prolonged use, the eyes get tired, and poor lighting can aggravate the situation. In case of limited natural lighting from the window, you should take care of additional lights.

It is important to think through the details of the design of the computer table in the living room. This is due to the limited space and the need to isolate the table for a quiet job. This space can be distinguished with the help of special furniture, flooring and decorative interior items.

An indispensable element in a place designated for work on a computer should be a convenient roomy cabinet or a large number of shelves, fortified in the immediate vicinity of the table. The rest of the furniture should be at a sufficient distance from the workplace so that the movement of people around the room is not hindered by structural elements.

The working area can be distinguished by architectural elements. Among these may be a niche in the wall, a bay window or part of the false ceiling, designed in a suitable way.

Design ideas for a computer table in the living room interior

To comply with the factor of sufficient lighting, you can place a computer table near the window. Before this, you need to make sure that the light from the window is not annoying. To do this, it is enough to sit on a chair for some time in the place where the workplace is supposed. In extreme cases, you can curtain the window with a thick curtain and, if necessary, open it. Most often, the table is placed along the wall on which there is a window.

Laptop computers and laptops can be used on small countertops. In case of insufficient space in the living room, the cabinet door, which is folded horizontally, may protrude. On such an impromptu countertop will fit a lamp, a stack of paper, writing accessories and the like. At the end of work, everything can be folded into the same cabinet and lift the door to its original position.

In a large living room with two windows, a workplace can be placed between them. So you can provide sufficient lighting, fresh air and compact organization of the place. In addition, along the long wall you can place all the necessary storage systems.

Some manufacturers offer to equip a fashionable wardrobe with a small desktop. This option is suitable for a small apartment in which you need to maximize free space. The design involves shifting the door to the side for easy access to the computer. While the cabinet is completely closed, the working area is invisible to others. Using the same method, the computer can be placed behind the shutter of the secretary. True, this design can be used temporarily, since a long stay in an uncomfortable position with no legroom will cause uncomfortable sensations.

In a cramped room, any corner should be used to the maximum benefit. So a small space between the wall and the cabinet can take a compact computer desk. Thus, the workplace will receive natural isolation from the rest of the room. This will not require additional costs or repairs. In a small living room there may be a niche or a pantry. This will make it possible to equip a convenient and isolated workplace without cluttering up the room itself. The main thing is to properly arrange the ventilation and lighting of such a place. Furniture that fits in such modest-sized places is best done on order. Then it will fit perfectly into the opening and will be as functional as possible.

If the living room is located on the ground floor of a multi-storey building and there is a staircase there, then the space under it can be an excellent study. There will fit a computer table, and on the wall you can fix several shelves for the things necessary in the work.

As a computer desk, you can use the office, which does not take up much space, while maintaining the necessary functionality. The easiest option would be a simple table. It is easy to place on it the computer itself and all its accessories. The dining table can easily replace a computer, and if necessary, it can be used for its intended purpose.

Allocation of the working area by other methods

The design of the working area should harmoniously fit it into the overall interior, while maintaining the necessary autonomy. To do this, you can apply the selection with:

Using color, you can combine the zone selected in another way with the interior of the living room. Thus, a harmonious combination of shades will be maintained in the room. In contrast to this method, you can precisely highlight the workplace with color. To do this, it is better to use contrasting shades.

You can also highlight a desktop with a computer with the help of additional elements in the form of a carpet or furniture. Using strict straight lines in a mini-office setting, you can conditionally separate it from the living room with soft lines and rounded shapes.

All of these methods work. It is enough to use your imagination and the result will be a cozy small study with a computer desk right in the living room.

Each of us spends an incredible amount of time sitting at our PC. But if you know how to choose a computer desk correctly and without errors, it will not only blend perfectly in the interior of your home, but will also make the time spent behind it the most enjoyable and productive.

Choosing it, you should consider aesthetics, as well as functionality. Today, you can choose a table among the widest variety of models and design variations. Moreover, anyone can do this, even a very demanding one. In addition, such a computer table in the interior will be its highlight!
