Interior kitchen for home. Small Kitchen Design Ideas: Tips and Tricks

Hello! Thank you for visiting the blog “Your Designer”! Continuing the theme, today I want to talk about the design of a small kitchen. Regardless of the size of your kitchen - 5, 10 or 16 square meters - most likely it is it that is the center and soul of your home. After all, it is here that we spend most of our time preparing breakfasts and dinners, chatting with family and friends, celebrating important events and making plans for the future. Therefore, our main task is to make even the most modest kitchen visually more spacious and maximally functional.

White kitchens

If you have a very small kitchen, the most unbeatable color for it will be white (milk, cream, ivory). White cabinets, a countertop and a kitchen apron, complemented by contrasting decor, will make even the tiniest room more spacious and super-stylish. Details about white kitchens are possible.

If you choose white for the floor, you will get a kitchen in a modern Scandinavian style. No wonder this style is most often used in the interior of small apartments.

Choosing furniture for a small kitchen

If there is a need for additional storage modules, use the entire height of the wall. Place food supplies and rarely used utensils in the top cabinets. Lower boxes - only for the most necessary.

If you install cabinets from floor to ceiling, they will merge with the wall and visually disappear into the room. This is a very effective technique in the design of small rooms, which I already spoke about.

Another trick that serves the same purpose, choice kitchen cabinets the color of the walls. At the same time, one should not be afraid of deep, saturated colors: in dark rooms, the borders visually disappear, which makes you think that the room is bigger than it really is.

Use cabinets with transparent doors. This will make the kitchen airy and more spacious. However, in this case, you should carefully consider filling cabinets. Otherwise, you can achieve the opposite effect.

Open shelves work on the same principle. If you at least partially use open shelving, the kitchen will seem more spacious.

Choose the most light and elegant furniture: a small table with a glass top, bar stools on elegant legs, transparent chairs ... A massive wooden table and heavy armchairs will look bulky, and this is the last thing we want to achieve.

Multifunctional furniture is more relevant than ever in a small kitchen. Pay attention to folding chairs, sliding tables or, for example, such mobile tables on wheels that serve as a work surface and as an additional module for storage:.

When designing a small kitchen, choose a simple style and a minimum of details. Ornate kitchens in classic style irrelevant for small rooms (although, in my opinion, they are also irrelevant for large rooms ...)

About kitchen and living room combination I already wrote. This is perhaps one of the best solutions for very small kitchens.

A lot of apartment owners are faced with a serious problem associated with poor planning - a small kitchen area. It can be solved by moving the walls and expanding the kitchen area, but this option is suitable only for large apartments and involves serious repair work and a large amount of paperwork, because the redevelopment of the apartment needs to be registered.

But designers are able to solve this problem with simpler, but no less effective methods. How to make a small kitchen not only visually larger, but also more functional?

The color scheme in the design of small kitchens

You need to use light calm tones that visually increase the size of the room. To make your kitchen not seem too “pale”, add some bright colors as accents.

Another way to increase the space is the visual union of adjacent rooms. Do not tear down the walls, but paint them in the same color (or use the same wallpaper), then the kitchen will merge with the next room, it will look like its continuation. Often used in the design of a small kitchen.

Refuse from prints and vivid drawings that will attract attention. Thus, you can also visually increase the area of the room. If you want to use patterns, then choose an abstract relief on the walls to match their color. He will make your kitchen more interesting, but will not "squeeze" the room.

The color scheme should be traced not only in, but also in the textiles used. Light colors and pastel shades will make the room light.

Try to fill your kitchen with light. It is best if the lighting is natural, so do not close the window. If in your kitchen there is no window (or there is not enough light even in the daytime), then actively use various lamps. In addition to the ceiling, be sure to place lights on the walls or fixtures built into furniture or shelves. Do not forget that the work area should be very well lit to make cooking in the kitchen convenient and pleasant.

Furniture in the design of small kitchens

If you have the opportunity to move the dining table outside, then use it. Then you can use the kitchen only for its intended purpose and free it from unnecessary furniture.

Follow the light color rule when choosing a kitchen set. Dark tones give a feeling of massiveness and heaviness that you should avoid. You can also use “transparent” furniture, for example, a dining table with a glass top or chairs with very thin chrome legs. Such interior items do not visually reduce space and allow light to freely spread through the kitchen.

When choosing furniture, give preference to large and spacious cabinets and cabinets. You can place everything you need in them, and the space will not be greatly reduced. If the kitchen furniture will consist of a large number of cabinets, then you risk visually "overload" your small kitchen.

Try to make maximum use of every centimeter of the area including niches and corners. If you do not fit standard kitchen sets, then order the furniture suitable in size. Custom furniture costs, of course, more expensive, but kitchen furniture is not often changed, and your convenience and appearance of the kitchen will be worth the money spent.

When choosing a dining table, give preference to a round or oval countertop, these tables occupy less space. Ideal for a small kitchen - folding table or a transforming table. You can open it only if necessary, and the rest of the time in your kitchen will be a bit more spacious.

Accessories in the design of small kitchens

Try not to overload the space with various accessories. Remember that a large number of small objects visually reduces the size of the room.

In order to distract attention from small sizes, you need to hang a photo or picture not at eye level (as usual) but a little higher or slightly lower. If you distribute small decor items on the wall one above the other, you will achieve a different effect - visually increase the height of the room.

Use transparent and shiny accessories, they transmit and reflect light, thus preserving and increasing the lightness and volume of the room. If you want to hang photographs or paintings, abandon the massive and bright frames.

For the design of small rooms often use mirrors. You can not only hang a mirror on the wall, but also use mirror surfaces on the cabinet doors. Chromed surfaces that perfectly reflect light will also visually enhance the kitchen. Use such handles for cabinets, taps and kitchen bolts.

Important little things in the design of small kitchens

Try to remove the doors separating the kitchen from the next room, so you visually increase the adjacent rooms. An excellent “unifying” solution is the same flooring throughout the apartment.

No matter how you like flowers, do not place large plants in a small kitchen, they attract attention and can nullify all your efforts. If you can not do without living plants, then put in a narrow vase of bamboo. It refreshes the design of the small kitchen and visually alters the ceiling.

Try to use as few different materials, colors and textures as possible. The secret is that the same materials visually expand the space. “Simple” interiors seem more spacious.

Get rid of unnecessary things. Very often things are stored in the kitchen that you do not use, but cannot throw away. Carefully sort through all the dishes, ask yourself when was the last time you used the equipment packed in boxes. If you get rid of all unnecessary dishes (old pans and pots, extra plates and special tins), then a place will appear in the cabinets. Repair in the kitchen is an excellent occasion to update kitchen utensils. Pay attention also to the fact that it is much easier to restore order in the kitchen when there are fewer objects. Getting rid of old and unnecessary things, you can reduce the number of cabinets and increase the actual free space of your kitchen.

Another way to rationally use space is to abandon the oven. Built-in hob (gas or electric) is necessary in the kitchen, but without an oven it is quite possible to do. Instead, you will have an additional cabinet for storing dishes or products.

Design of a small kitchen - photo

Not everyone can boast of having a spacious kitchen. And I want even the kitchenette to be both beautiful and comfortable. This can be achieved by knowing some of the tricks that professional designers and designers use in their work. The design of a small kitchen is an individual matter and the concept of “small” is quite extensible - it can be 4-5 squares, and 6-8 squares. The form, too - a square and a rectangle, the location of the door and window - all this affects the development of the layout. So you have to "try on" all the ideas for your kitchen.

General rules for the design of small rooms

Let's start with the choice of colors. For small rooms it is advisable to use muted, unsaturated colors. The lighter the design, the more spacious the kitchen seems. The second tip for color design is no more than two colors. Bright multicolor will overload a small volume and will “crush”. You won’t stay in such a room for a long time, and if you take into account that the housewives have to spend a lot of time in the kitchen, then it will be very tired. Therefore, we choose two unsaturated colors and try to squeeze everything out of them. How - see the photo.

The combination of shades of beige and white - the classic design of small kitchens. Too bright color in a small kitchen - the introvert is too "heavy"

The next secret concerns the type of paints and surfaces used. Furniture and wall coverings are preferably plain and glossy. At least a light half gloss is very desirable: light is reflected in the surfaces, surrounding objects and the space visually expands.

It is advisable not to use patterns. If you really want to, then in a very limited amount they are dim and hardly expressed. All contrasting combinations “eat up” the volume, because of which the room will seem even smaller.

Window decoration

In a small kitchen you will have to abandon frills and multilayer curtains. Ideal option - In some interiors blinds will approach. If you really want to have a curtain, then only light and with a minimum of assemblies, and better - without them at all. And you can close the room from prying eyes by the same roller blinds.

Window blinds - a great solution for a small kitchen

The colors are all the same: one of the shades present in the design or their combination. If the kitchen turned out to be very monochrome, you can hang a bright curtain on the window and put a couple of little things of the same color.

How to make a floor

It's about choosing a color, not a material. As you understand, probably one of the tricks is to make the floor and doors of floor cabinets of the same color. In this case, the boundary between the wall and the floor is lost, and even a very small kitchen is visually perceived as more spacious.

If this option is not particularly pleasing to you, you can choose the color flooring to match the countertops or finish the furniture. You remember that the design of a small kitchen requires the use of no more than two colors. So the choice is not very large: to make a very light floor or a little darker, but in one gamut. You see the dark floor in the tone of the countertop in the photo above, and the light floor in the photo below.

Light interior and a pair of accents in brown - a small kitchen seems more spacious

Something like this, using different textures and colors can make the room more voluminous. But the most difficult task is to place all the kitchen appliances and furniture in a small space. Yes, so that it was comfortable and the interior was not overloaded. This problem is solved by a competent layout of furniture.

Furniture for a small kitchen

Our life is constantly growing new and new gadgets. What used to be in the kitchen? Stove yes fridge. Today, a microwave is added to them almost without fail, they often put a washing machine in the kitchen, and those who do not like to wash dishes - also a dishwasher. And you also need an oven, but without a food processor - nowhere. Plus a coffee grinder or coffee machine, a bread machine, a slow cooker, a mixer, a blender ... And this is not a complete list. All this needs to be put somewhere, and so that it is convenient.

Little tricks

One of the options is to place the microwave and the oven (if any) one above the other in a high cabinet, which is also called a pencil case. Below may be located drawersin which other equipment will be stored, and above you can make a cabinet for dishes or equipment that is used infrequently.

Any even the smallest area should be used. For example, often between the refrigerator and the wall there is a distance of about 10 cm wide. Well, how to use it? Make a drawer for spices or other small things.

To save space, in kitchenettes you can make cabinets, the doors of which do not open sideways, as we are used to, but move up. Such hardware is quite expensive, but it saves quite a bit of space.

In general, storage systems allow the use of every centimeter of area. Of course, they cost money, because the work is provided by compact mechanisms that provide such functionality.

Where to put the table

Often the room is so small that it is problematic to put a table. But there is a solution, and not one. The easiest option - if there is a window sill, and there is free access to it, make it part of the table. It will be necessary to order a countertop of complex shape and install it in place of the windowsill. It will turn out to be a fairly decent-sized table, at which two people can dine.

Moreover, it is not necessary that the surface of the table-sill was at the same level as the working surfaces of kitchen cabinets. They can have different heights, and the resulting shelves can be used properly.

The second option is a folding table device. You can attach it to the same window sill, make a sliding tabletop that leaves under the table top, you can attach a folding tabletop to the free side of the desktop. In general, pacific according to circumstances. Several options in the photo gallery.

Sometimes it happens that there is a place, but having put an ordinary table, we immediately “land” the entire interior. It becomes flat and uninteresting. All white that the usual table looks heavy. And if on large areas this is balanced by even more massive furniture, then in a small kitchen it is just cumbersome. In this case, find a tempered glass table. It may not be completely transparent, but there will be no heaviness.

A kitchen is the most functional room in a house or apartment. The design of the kitchen involves several working areas and high requirements for the level of safety of finishing materials. For all its practicality, it is necessary to create a cozy nest for cooking for family dinners.

Modern designers offer many convenient and interesting solutions, both for a spacious room, and for a small-sized kitchen.

Fashion for kitchen design does not stand still. Modern style is developing rapidly, offering homeowners a wide variety of shapes, colors, and textures to create the kitchen of their dreams.

But there are general trends in the design of the modern food temple. Designers recommend:

 • visually expand the space due to light colors in the decoration, mirror surfaces, lighting.
 • zoning space;
 • use functional modern built-in appliances that add hi-tech notes to the interior of a small kitchen;
 • use concise kitchen sets;
 • add strict lines and geometric shapes to the room, as a tribute to the modern style;
 • hide hardware;
 • use chrome surfaces, glass in decoration;
 • add "eco-notes" with the help of wooden inserts, living plants;
 • develop a high-tech storage system. Minimalism does not tolerate the cluttered space of the room.

Style selection

The kitchen is the place for family dinners and romantic breakfasts. That is why it should be framed in harmony with the inner world and the tastes of the owners. Today, there are many styles applicable to this room. Of course, everyone can find an option for themselves:

Classic style. It is an ageless style. When designing a small kitchen, the classic will not be a good solution, since the peculiarity of this trend is furniture made of dark wood colors or materials disguised as it. The main colors will be beige, gold and brown.

Country style. The type of interior has something in common with the classics, but is a simpler and more comfortable version of it. Preference is given to natural materials and the decor conveying the flavor of the countryside: wicker motif, distinctive shapes, natural colors, patchwork fabrics.

High tech. The exact opposite of country style. The emphasis is on the abundance of chrome, metal, glass, modern technology, which will become the main decor of the room. Using simple lines in the headset will emphasize its functionality. The use of one bright dominant color and one neutral is encouraged.

Modern style or modernthat fits perfectly into the design of a very small kitchen with a window. Differs in laconicism and desire for minimalism. Prevalence in the interior white color and plenty of natural light will further expand the space of even the smallest kitchen. Art Nouveau is characterized by the use of geometric shapes and the functionality of every detail.

Eclecticism. Mixed style teeming with decor. Loads space with many elements. Combines various textures and colors.

Color scheme

Choosing the color of your kitchen design is an important step. The general mood of the room and the effect it creates will depend on the color scheme.

Beautiful design of a kitchen of a small area implies a visual increase in space. A combination of two colors will help to achieve this effect. Light color should prevail from above, and dark - below.

The plain interior also fits well with the design of the small square kitchen. But when choosing a dominant color, you should use a palette from light beige to brown.

The choice of white color as a plain design will make the kitchen too strict, wood decor help mitigate this effect.

The background largely depends on the initial choice of the style of the room, as well as on the planned coloring of the furniture: you can not combine a colorful headset with a bright color of the walls.

You should also remember the effect of color on humans. Red color is able to speed up metabolism, promotes good appetite. And the use of blue and green shades, on the contrary, is suitable for those who follow the figure and want to eat a little less than usual.

Non-standard choice of ceiling color will help to diversify the familiar atmosphere. Good choice there will be light warm shades.

Kitchen finish

Different kitchen surfaces are suitable for different finishes. Let us dwell on each of them.

Ceiling decoration

The ceiling in the kitchen has special requirements. In addition to aesthetic appearance, it should be practical, moisture and heat resistant. The most common ceiling finishes are:

 • wallpapering;
 • plastic panel trim;
 • coloring;
 • pasting with polystyrene foam plates;
 • installation of a stretch ceiling;
 • installation of a plasterboard ceiling.

Naturally, even though pasting the ceiling will be a cheap way to finish it, these methods will definitely not be able to boast of durability.

Until recently, the most common method was plastering and subsequent painting of the ceiling. water-based paint. This is a rather laborious and “dirty” process, but the result justifies itself. When the paint begins to turn yellow over time, it is easy to update the ceiling with another layer.

The most modern methods are the design of suspended and false ceilings. These are more expensive options, but such ceilings are durable and functional. Thanks to the spotlight, it is possible to additionally illuminate the work surface, and a multi-level ceiling will help to zone the space.

The unusual design of the small kitchen is emphasized by mirrored ceilings. They look original and visually expand the space.

Wall decoration

In cases where the kitchen is divided into working and dining areas, it will be appropriate to emphasize this separation with different finishing materials. Among the most popular finishes:

Ceramic tiles and mosaics. The leader in kitchen design. It owes its popularity to its durability, strength, ease of care, as well as a huge selection of colors for every taste. It is rarely found as a finishing material for the entire kitchen, it usually fills the space of the apron or the entire working wall.

Paint. Washable paint is a great option for both the work and dining areas. Mixing colors can provide many beautiful shades for a quality finish. Another reason for the popularity of paint is the ability to paint the walls with your own hands, without resorting to the help of specialists in the presence of a ready-made even surface.

Wallpaper. Given the specifics of the room, the usual wallpaper in the kitchen is not the place. Non-woven, fiberglass, vinyl wallpapers are suitable for finishing this room.

 Yellow rectangular kitchen in the interior with wallpaper

Finishing with concrete, brick, putty. The appearance of the pristine “bare” wall decorated with usually hidden building materials introduces a spectacular touch and a bit of rebellion into a modern laconic seasoned style.

Wall MDF panels. Modern manufacturers offer a wide selection of aesthetic panels coated with a special protective film. They are easy to install and look good in the interior of the room.

Floor finish

The choice of flooring is a rather difficult task for a simple layman. There is a wide variety of modern materials that meet the requirements of the kitchen space. The practicality of the finish should be in the first place compared to the appearance.

The favorite, as in the case of walls, remains ceramic tile, especially since there are its colors imitating popular wooden surfaces.

The second most popular material is linoleum. It has an inexpensive price, having all the qualities necessary for flooring a kitchen.

Parquet can be a beautiful, practical, but expensive option for flooring. This material improves the quality of the room without fear of moisture and temperature due to special protection.

An inexpensive alternative to a wooden floor is a laminate. In addition to the advantages of price and appearance, the material boasts ease of installation, which even an inexperienced builder can handle.

An extravagant decision will be the floor in the style of a loft. Primordial concrete floor is a win-win option due to its functionality and cost.

Furniture

Variety of modern kitchen furniture great disorientation of an inexperienced buyer. How not to get lost, choose a suitable headset?

Regardless of the size of the kitchen, there are 5 standard layout options:

 • island placement;
 • peninsular accommodation;
 • parallel placement;
 • U-shaped placement;
 • L-shaped placement.

Whatever type of layout you choose, there are general trends in the design of kitchen furniture. So, today, the boom is an efficient storage system. Rationally used even the most inaccessible places.

Given the diversity of modern technology, to integrate it organically into the overall silhouette of the kitchen, custom-made furniture would be an ideal option.

Do not save on the quality of finishing materials for the kitchen: very unfairly made furniture will lose its appearance due to instability to moisture and temperature, requiring significant funds for its complete replacement.

Dining area decoration

In most apartments, the place to eat is in the kitchen. Designers recommend highlighting the dining area in the interior, visually separating it from work surfaces.

In the presence of free space it will not be difficult. You can use the design technique of zoning using different wall and ceiling finishes. Another option will be a small screen in the color of decoration, covering the functional part of the room. Mosaics or murals look good, which not only emphasize the dining area, but also create additional comfort, become part of the picturesque decor.

The design of a small kitchen with a refrigerator will require more sophistication. To put the dining area here, it is recommended to choose the L-shaped layout. In this case, the use of a window sill as a continuation of a work surface or as a complement to a table may be a good and correct solution.

It is popular to use instead of the usual combination of a table and chairs, a bar counter and high stools. But this option is hardly suitable for families with children.

Decor and lighting will help to emphasize the dining area. A well-chosen carpet will help to replace the floor finish.

Room decoration

Despite the desire of modern designers to minimalism, decor remains part of the interior, although it is undergoing some changes. Compared with the fashion of the past years, the number of non-functional elements is significantly reduced. Preference is given to one bright accent, instead of many small details that create a cluttered kitchen effect.

As a kitchen decor is used:

 • screen drawings and ornaments on a functional wall;
 • themed stickers
 • self-adhesive paper on the fridge
 • decorative dishes;
 • unusual lamps;
 • hand-made items;
 • tree;
 • original carpet or mural;
 • glass decor;
 • eco-objects: flowers, plants;
 • decorative curtains.

When choosing a decor and its location in the kitchen, do not forget about the fire safety rules.

Lighting

The kitchen, as a functional room of any housing, needs a well-thought-out high-quality lighting system.

 An example of a design project of a kitchen with a backlight

The placement of the lamp should be taken care of immediately after the final decision on the layout of the kitchen. It is at this stage that it is possible to determine the location of working areas that require additional illumination, the method of scattering light, and in advance to conduct all the missing elements (sockets, outlets, switches, etc.).

On modern kitchen no place for a single light source. For example, by combining spotlights and pendant lights, you can conveniently illuminate the work surface and the perimeter of the room.

It is best to make the main light neutral and not too bright, and with the help of additional light sources add up the necessary combinations of lighting.

To illuminate the kitchen space are used:

 • LED backlight;
 • Spotlights;
 • Tire lights;
 • Pendant lights;
 • Overhead lights.

Do not forget about the combination of style and color of lighting with the rest of the interior. If recessed fixtures are universal, then chandeliers and pendant devices can have a different texture, color. Thus, you can make a good central accent of the kitchen, combining the lighting functions with the decoration of the space.
Do not forget! The use of a lamp with a fabric shade in the kitchen is inappropriate, since a large amount of fat and soot will accumulate on it. Elongated kitchen design - interior ideas photo Corner kitchens - design and interior, execution styles

Hello again dear readers! New day - a new discussion.

Today, your attention is the topic of how to solve the issue of design ideas for a small kitchen. The question is already familiar to many, and I venture to suggest that it is very painful ... After all, every housewife wants so much to have a large, beautiful and comfortable kitchen. But!

The insufficient number of square meters can be safely compensated for with a good idea to create a functional space, while pleasing to the eye and soul.

Legacy of the past

I think many of us have an idea of what constitutes an apartment in the Khrushchev style. Low ceilings, small windows, a small area, and kitchenettes in general for inches.

Let's try to figure out together what the idea of kitchen design in Khrushchev should be, so that it would be nice not only to eat, but also to cook.

The very first thing I would like to say is that if you have a balcony, you can combine it with the kitchen!

Yes, I do not argue, this requires both time and money.

But in this way you will be able to well increase the area of the room. For new meters, now belonging to the kitchen, it will be possible to put a refrigerator or a small dining table.

Another important point.

In practice, I know that ready-made kitchen sets are designed for quite large rooms. Therefore, you, the owners of the little ones, will need to make the kitchen to order.

In this, I personally see only the pros!

We always remember that the smaller the area, the brighter the design.

A very good technique for increasing space is the use of mirror surfaces in the interior.

In our case, it may be an apron. Choose a small table, preferably without sharp corners, i.e. round.

Additional spot lighting above the work surface and ceiling-mounted chandelier in the center.

Less meters - more imagination!

This is how the process of creating the desired interior with a small area is arranged: there is not enough space, but everything needs to be placed, and even so that it is comfortable and looks beautiful.

Well, turn on the imagination to the fullest!

Think about what space you don't use in the kitchen? It’s difficult to answer right away, right? And if you focus, then this is what we have.

The place in any room from the middle of the wall to the ceiling is the very thing to place shelves, cabinets and the like. So we’ll apply such an idea to create a kitchen design with an area of, say, 6 square meters.

We have already agreed that we make the kitchen to order. In order to fit all the necessary utensils, we need lockers. We make them to the ceiling, so that even a fly does not fly between them. Yes, sometimes you have to get up on a stool to get the right saucepan, but everything in the kitchen will be in the kitchen, and not somewhere else.

Another little trick is transformable furniture. For example, folding chairs that can be placed near the wall when they are not needed. A table with one leg, like in a train carriage: if you want to eat, they lifted the lid, completed the meal, and lowered it. Everything is simple!

Did you know that with a small area of an apartment, doors are an impermissible luxury ???

Joke!

But in it, of course, has its own truth.

In order not to occupy a small space without it, we remove the doors from the hinges in general, or as an option we put the compartment door.

Turn on the designer

Unfortunately, not everyone can afford to hire a designer to create an interior. Actually, that's why we share with you ideas on how to do it ourselves.

Fortunately, our men are jack-of-all-trades and are able to assist their wives, if not in creating the idea of designing a kitchen with their own hands, then at least in the process of technical work.

So, let's start in order. First, after numerous consultations on the network, we draw, save in our imagination or on a computer a picture of what we want to reproduce in the kitchen.

Then we dismantle the old furniture, we are happy to get rid of the old wallpaper and tiles, in general, give the room a "rest" and prepare for a new transformation.

If the lighting of the preliminary version of your kitchen is quite satisfactory, we leave everything as it is, and if not, we consult with experts about the conduct and installation of additional outlets, bulbs, etc.

And the last thing we do is the window and the door (since they still decided to install it).

And now we begin the stage of creating a new interior for the kitchen. I would advise you to abandon the wallpaper in favor of paint. This is a fairly practical and quite effective solution. Fortunately, today you can find a lot of options for colors, besides washable. Repainting later will be much easier than re-sticking the wallpaper.

But if you still want wallpaper, glue one wall, but do not forget that the picture should be small.

To design an apron today, there are several interesting options. Much will depend on your budget. The most expensive option is stone or marble. The most economical tile.

But the most original - this is a glass under which you can even place your family photos! Or a mirror surface, which in an understandable way will create the illusion of a larger space.

Decide.

For the window best option there will be a roman curtain. It is very convenient and practical.

Making a bar at home

I don’t know about you, but I really like the kitchens with a breakfast bar. It looks very stylish and spectacular, right?

Do you have little room for such a decision?

A bar counter just horror as you want?

Dare!

Only in our case, of course, will it replace us with the dining table. I think it’s clear why.

Designers did a good job and created a lot of ideas, both for large and small kitchens with bar counters. So, go ahead for the dream, as they say!

In most cases, the counter is a logical continuation of the work surface in the kitchen, especially in the corner version. Therefore, with a small area of the room, such a solution is even in our hands. Of course, above and under the bar, you should forget about the cabinets, but resorting to additional devices we will get additional space for glasses, piles and mugs.

But to avoid visual clutter of the space, feel free to order a bar counter from thick, shockproof glass. There are many options for the location of this design element.

It is up to you how to prioritize the kitchen.

Having corner kitchen, the issue of placement will disappear almost immediately. But if the room has the shape of a rectangle, you can use the windowsill to place the bar. An excellent solution would be to combine both components to get a “window sill rack”. Eating and watching what happens outside is wonderful, in my opinion!

We realize the most daring desires

Nevertheless, we were lucky to live in the twenty-first century! Such a variety of styles, forms, materials, as it has never been before. The main thing is not to rush to extremes and responsibly approach the issue of designing a small kitchen in modern styles.

It is very important not to go too far with “modernity”.

It is very important for today's women that the place where they spend a lot of time is as comfortable, cozy and very functional as possible.

One of the most popular trends in design is modern. This style represents the simplicity of lines, without frills and extra trinkets.

Everything is clear and clear.

Natural materials from which kitchen sets are created are designed to create not only a cozy atmosphere, but also reduce the impact of harmful particles on our health.

In this style, the so-called “islands” are often used, which are mainly in the center of the room and serve as a work surface and a dining table. Even with small room sizes, you can install this element if desired. Glossy, perfectly flat surfaces are characteristic of Art Nouveau. The most diverse color combinations.

Eclecticism, i.e. combination of styles is also fashionable, but in a small kitchen it is better not to use this option.

Breaking stereotypes

When you want to tear yourself away even from the most fashionable solutions, which nevertheless represent a certain standard representation of design, we resort to unusual, bold ideas that make our small kitchen just a magical place.

Your attention is a design similar to a cylinder, in which absolutely everything has been calculated!

The base of such a kitchenette rests on the axis and, accordingly, rotates, making it possible to maximize the use of space. A great option for a small room area.

In conclusion, I would like to say, whatever the idea of designing a small kitchen, do not lose sight of a single detail that can radically change the impression.

Measure, imagine, discuss and only after a hundredth conversation act.
